I downloaded the md5 loader from sourceforge today and ran MD5Test2 and noticed that the model is twitching from side to side, mostly vertically though. As anyone else noticed this? Why does that happen and how can i fix it?

Should i record the twitching and post it?

Here's what the twitching looks like:

http://www.sharebigfile.com/file/110518/javaw-2007-03-13-13-53-04-37-avi.html

I took the texture straight from the fish in MD5Test2 so that i could see the mesh because i ran into the shader problem.
The animation is just a rectangle(viewed from the top) bending over. with the MD5Test2 Code though it shows it twitching up and down and side to side, also there is twitching in the texture image.

I hope somebody who know more than me about the core scene and rendering api that can help me with this problem.

I dont think this is the case, I just downloaded MD5reader2 and it has a jme.jar that comes with. I also noticed the twitching right away.

First of all I apologize for my absence in the latest months. I am busy with many other works (Comics Novels a MMORPG based on jME, and studying electronics...). Moreover I apologize with mcbeth and other MD5 Reader 2 contributors, if I still have not the time to fully configure the SourceForge page. I will publish a post here explaining everything better.

About the twitching.
I am not able to download the AVI file. I will investigate the problem with other contributors. Anyway my experience was the same of mcbeth: I never saw any twitching. An old bug, we already resolved, caused the marine strafing left instead of running forward.

I just tried the Eclipse synchronization between my local MD5 Reader 2 and the one stored on SourceForge.net. Everything seems to be exactly the same, with the exception of some Eclipse project files I changed today in my local disk.

This means that if I and mcbeth never experienced that twitching, at the time we publish MD5 Reader 2, there is probably some changes in jME that influences MD5 Reader 2 behavior. If this is the reason, we will fix MD5 Reader 2 as soon as possible, to maintain it jME compliant.

Meanwhile if you discover the cause before we publish any fix, please communicate that to me.

Thanks

we tracked the twitching to an origin bone in this post but never did find a cause for the flickering texture when scaling an md5 model. http://www.jmonkeyengine.com/jmeforum/index.php?topic=4858.0
