Following up on an earlier announcement when Doug Twilleager joined jME, we are thrilled to announce the second addition to an ever growing team of core developers behind the emerging Java Monkey Engine 3.0; please welcome Savas ‘insanitydesign’ Ziplies. What is even more exciting about the addition of Savas to our team, is that he will be covering a field of development that jME has hardly touched on in the past: Mobile development.

In the beginning the ‘mobile development’ will be all about Android. Google’s Android is an ideal starting point for this new endeavor, as it implements the Java language, and it is completely open source. There are also many other parties, educational and commercial, that are immensely interested in this type of functionality. With Mr. Ziplies on the team, we expect to see the jMonkeyEngine extend its reach as an idea and empower jME3’s blooming development.

More developers are racing through the tubes as we speak, so do stay tuned as we prepare to unveil our next Java virtuoso!
